Last week we celebrated Greek culture at the Taste of Greece event held at City Winery hosted by Wines of Greece and Friends of Boroume Charity. Of course no Greek celebration would be complete without an abundance of delicious food and wine.
The event featured wines from 40 of Greece’s most popular wineries and was catered to wine experts in the restaurant and beverage industry, as well as casual wine enthusiasts who just love wine.
Winemakers had representatives talk expertly about their varieties of wine. Wines hailed from the vineyards of the mainland to the many different varieties from the Greek islands.
In addition to tasting an enormous variety of different wines, we were also able to enjoy light fare from some of NYC’s finest Greek restaurants, including Amali, Avra, The Greek Tribeca, Molyvos, and Thalassa.
With the support of the Greek Trade Office in New York, proceeds from the event go towards the Friends of Boroume Charity, a non-profit organization committed to reducing food waste and providing distribution of surplus food to the needy of Greece.
Yamas!
Yours,
Von
