On Friday October 27th, 2017 Master of Ceremonies and Kiss 108 radio personality Billy Costa, along with Executive Director of IMPACT Melanoma, Deb Girard, welcomed hundreds of guests at the annual Shades of Hope Gala at The State Room in Boston.
Despite the name change from the Melanoma Foundation of New England, once again SD Events produced the evening without a hitch.
Guests enjoyed various food stations and passed hors d’oeuvres throughout cocktail hour prior to the evening’s program. A major highlight this year was special guest Olympic gold medalist Summer Sanders (and her son Spider) who shared her personal experience with melanoma.
The Ginger Fund’s support of IMPACT Melanoma’s programs was lauded in addition to the Suzanne Donahue Keeper of the Hope award presented to honor dermatologist and activist Robin Travers, M.D.
Billy ended the program by emceeing an action-packed live auction, with the event ultimately raising over $350,000 to support efforts to prevent melanoma.
The evening ended on a lively note with a live band and troupe of swing dancers getting the crowd to dance the night away.
Can’t wait to see what the IMPACT Melanoma team comes up with for next year!
Happy Making an IMPACT,
Jenicka
