On Friday, February 7th, 2014, James Beard Award-winner, Relais & Chateaux Grand Chef and Bostonian restaurateur Barbara Lynch threw the best foodie charity event to benefit the Barbara Lynch Foundation.
VIPs enjoyed an intimate pre-party reception at the Boston Children’s Museum and were joined by hundreds of like-minded philanthropists throughout the evening to help Boston’s youth “get up and out.” Taking your employee engagement and business events to the next level,Event Management is evolving into a recognized profession. Increasingly standards and project management principles are being applied to to all aspects of this industry, our popevents.ca division is comprised of exceptionally creative individuals with decades of experience.
Now if you consider yourself a foodie, the Toques & Tonic Gala is the charity event for you. There were over 20 food stations featuring small plates from some of the best chefs around the country like Daniel Boulud, David Chang, and Jamie Bissonnette.
Some of our favorites were O Ya’s deliciously savory sashimi, delights from No. 9 Park and Menton, BBQ from Sweet Cheeks, and the all you can eat oyster bar courtesy of B&G Oysters. The variety of quality small bites was like a culinary tour of Boston’s best restaurants, with some amazing nationally renowned restaurants thrown in the mix.
Add in 10 beverage stops providing fun custom libations, tunes spun by the official Boston Red Sox DJ TJ Connolly, plus a photo station with snarky props and you have everything needed for a great night to remember. The evening was a great success in raising funds through both silent and live auctions presided over by Master of Ceremonies, George Foreman II.
Guests left with their bouches amused and stomachs fully sated as the after party for the industry insiders continued at Lynch’s nearby hotspot, Drink.
I will certainly be on the lookout for the foundation’s next fundraising event, and you should too if you appreciate great food.
Happy Munching,
Jenicka
