On Tuesday July 24, 2012, Café Kristall was relaunched in the Swarovski Crystallized store in the Soho neighborhood of downtown NYC. The venue features glamorous chandeliers that glitter in perfect time with the Swarovski crystals in the store surrounded by beautiful art deco décor.

At the invitation of architect Christian Wassmann, Heather Clawson of Habitually Chic and Swarovski Crystallized, a crowd of about 200 gathered to celebrate the re-imagined café and Chef Kurt Gutenbrunner’s new menu. Among the menu’s new offerings is an avant-garde veal slider, which can be grilled, or sautéed, and delicious wine pairings with the sliders and other delightful treats.

The highlight of the evening was the French jazz ensemble Carte Blanche giving the evening a fun and danceable rhythm with Edith Piaf classics and other jazz rendered standards from the contemporary French songbook. The music, complimented the food, and the food sparkled beautifully beside the crystals. The event was an upscale yet casual success.
