Coach-Ed Launch Party (11)

On Saturday, March 2nd, the launch party for Coach-Ed Inc., a charitable organization dedicated to encouraging, enabling, and supporting Cystic Fibrosis (CF) patients to live beyond the limitations of their debilitating and life-threatening disease was held in the Lower East Side at Gallery Bar.

This new charity was founded as a legacy to honor Edward Sawyer, a young athlete with CF who passed away at age 22, and the launch party celebrated what would have been his 30th birthday. Both Edward’s mother and sister spoke to honor Ed and the achievement of Coach-Ed Inc. and the various ways they have supported individuals with CF.

Over 100 young professional guests raised more than $7000 for the cause and enjoyed haute hors d’oeuvres by Elegant Affairs and open bar including bespoke cocktails made with Little Black Dress Vodka. Both silent auction and raffle auction prizes including jewelry, artwork, sports memorabilia, show, sporting event, and concert tickets, as well as a week-long cottage trip to Europe among other fabulous items (think Soul Cycle and Barry’s Bootcamp classes) were snapped up by partygoers. DJ Turbz kept the environment lively and is also close to the cause; his brother passed from CF in 2007.
