We’re thrilled to share that Dessert Goals – New York’s first dessert-only food festival – is back this fall, and it’s bigger, better and sweeter! After back-to-back sold out events in NYC and LA, the dessert festivities will return to New York for two full weekends of indulgence.
Taking place October 13, 14, 20, and 21 at Sound River Studios in Long Island City, this fall’s fete boasts a refreshed lineup of 20+ sweets vendors, a new theme (costumes very much encouraged), lots of Instagrammable opps (naturally), waterfront views of Manhattan, and more!
Festival curators and dessert lovers Miraya Berke and Liang Shi (both twentysomething entrepreneur dynamos) risked cavities and sugar hangovers to research and curate this year’s lineup of the best dessert purveyors in NYC. Participants will include People’s Pops, Stuffed Ice Cream, Smoothme, WOOPS!, Baked in Color, 2 Dough Boyz, and Marino’s, along with Dessert Goals OGs Rebecca’s Cake Pops, Petee’s Pie Co., and Too Cool Chix, with more to be announced shortly.
General admission tickets ($17) go on sale on Tuesday, September 11, available here. All tickets are valid for a designated 1.5 hour time slot and offer ticket holders access to an array of drool-worthy desserts available for purchase inside the festival. Tickets also include complimentary beverages from Bodum, Boxed Water, Zico, and Sparkling Ice, complimentary candy and snacks, plus other surprises we can’t share (…yet…). Those looking to really satisfy their sweet tooth can purchase Extra Sugar Rush Tickets ($35), which are valid for a full two hours and include a limited edition deluxe tote bag filled with curated goodies to take home.
The October event marks the seventh Dessert Goals in just two years, and the fifth in New York City.
“Our biggest #goal at each festival is to make it feel new each time,” said Miraya and Liang. “We do that not only with our vendor lineup, but also with the collaborations we take on, activities at the fest, the photo opps and decor, aaaand even the desserts you’re familiar with – many of our vendors test out new desserts or create festival exclusives for us!”
Here’s a sweet sneak peek at some of the specific offerings that will be on hand:
-
For this fest’s theme, Dessert Goals has collaborated with Joy (an app that helps people spend money on things that make them happy) to present the Joy Edition. Think: puppies, rainbows, sunshine, and desserts — basically, the literal interpretation of joy. Guests who have the Joy app will be be able to unlock ‘Extra Joy’ at the festival, such as bonus snacks, complimentary Sugarfina gummies, and other happy surprises.
-
Sugar comas are real, and Brooklinen will be there with a relaxing, IG-friendly photo installation for guests and their #dessertsquads to laze upon.
-
You won’t find this anywhere else: Petee’s Pie’s will be debuting their “Slice Cream” — a slice of pie mashed with four scoops of their homemade vanilla ice cream. Bring on the brain freeze.
-
People’s Pops will be launching dipping sauces for their popsicles for the first time ever. Your favorite frozen treat just got a very fun upgrade.
-
Rebecca’s Cake Pops will be featuring their festival exclusive “Cake Pop Bouquets” – decadent photogenic cake pops gathered in a pink chocolate dipped ice cream cone, which have sold out at every fest.
