The Doe Fund Gala

Thursday, October 27th, 2016
6:00 – 9:00 PM
Cipriani 42nd Street

The Doe Fund will hold its annual fundraising Gala on Thursday, October 27, 6-9pm at Cipriani 42nd Street.

This year’s event will honor Arthur Brooks, President of the American Enterprise Institute, who will speak during the evening’s ceremonies.

The Doe Fund Gala will also celebrate the upcoming conversion of its Bushwick, Brooklyn facility into the nation’s largest residential reentry program for men released from incarceration.

A highlight of each year’s Gala is speeches by “Men in Blue” who have graduated from The Doe Fund’s Ready, Willing & Able transitional work program. This year’s two speakers will reflect on their incredible journeys from incarceration to returning to their families, their communities, and the workforce.

Guests will enjoy dessert prepared in conjunction with The Doe Fund’s Head Baker, Pete Bessent. After his release from incarceration, Mr. Bessent perfected his culinary skills while participating in the Ready, Willing & Able program. He now heads The Doe Fund’s bakery which provides delicious baked goods for local farmers’ markets, catered events, and The Doe Fund’s residential facilities.
