On Thursday, April 26th, Joan Knows Best comedienne Lynne Koplitz hosted an intimate charity event at the Sephora flagship on Fifth Avenue to benefit The Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation of America.

Guests were treated to a night of beauty and express makeovers in addition to hors d’ouevres and cocktails sponsored by NUVO.  DJ KalKutta spun hits to keep attendees entertained as they anxiously awaited the results of the amazing silent auctions to benefit the Foundation.

There were lots of great donated items from BMW, Derek Jeter, Lincoln Center, Sephora, and Titleist, among others. A live model advertised a beautiful green Indian sari up for auction, posing with the gorgeous donated floral arrangements and in the Sephora windows throughout the evening.

Sadly, I was outbid on the nude patent Brian Atwood Maniac pumps I had been eyeing, but at least my losing bid helped raise an extra $100 for charity. My loss was a definite gain since 100% of the proceeds from the event benefit pediatric and adult kidney transplants.

Despite my loss, I did not leave the event empty handed thanks to VIP gift bags replete with new beauty products to sample. Lacoste graciously provided full size eau de toilettes of their Essential spray for men, while women received Versace’s Bright Crystal fragrance on a keychain. A combination of Ole Henriksen’s Apricot Cleansing Lotion, Boscia’s green tea blotting sheets and Dr. Dennis Gross’ Alpha Beta Daily Face Peel should help our skin transition into summer smoothly. Topping the bag off with The Righteous Body Butter helped seal the philanthropic tone for the evening.

Happy Beautifying,

Jenicka
