Just in time for lunch!  Craving some delicious tacos and burritos?   Today is the grand opening of Dos Toros Taqueria in the Upper East Side.

Hailing from San Francisco, Dos Toros came to us with their first store in the West Village earlier this summer in June.  In just a few short months of delicious success, they opened their second third store location on Lexington Ave and 77th Street.  Today, Tuesday, September 13th, 2011, is their first day opened to the public, but we had the pleasure of having a first taste yesterday at their friends and family preview.

The ordering process is similar to what everyone is familiar with from the big chain restaurants, but the differentiating factor is the noticeable high quality products they use with the promise of using only the freshest of ingredients from local farms.  Choose from carnitas (braised pork), pollo asada (grilled chicken), carne asada (grilled steak), or a basic vegetarian option in a burrito, taco or plato format.

They’re known to obsess over their guacamole, which in my opinion is never an option so much as a necessity.  Try all of their varieties of red and green pico de gallo, but be warned: these guys do not fuck around with their hot sauce.

Pictured here is my carnitas plato after I had already impatiently taken a bite.  To get your own, visit one of their two three locations ahora!

Yours,
Von
