As there were breaks between the shows at Lincoln Center, a friend invited me along to a suite at the Empire Hotel to check out some accessory designers. Amongst the many designers, I found a new and up and coming shoe designer who seems to fill a rather large gap in my opinion in the shoe market, Ivy Kirzhner. Ivy has worked for names like Herve Leger, BCBG and many more of the big caliber fashion houses – and when you look at her shoes and their beautiful designs, you know why.

The shoes are perfectly made with little details you would not have thought of, such as the little suede top sole that was formed into the shoe. The designs themselves are truly what make Ivy Kirzhner unique in her field. The ornate designs are intricate and have a clear theme, the arts. This season she has gone into the Egyptian, Mayan and Aztec themes and created the most beautiful shoes that cannot, and should not, go unnoticed.

Ivy, along with her business partner and her PR representative, took their time to introduce themselves and the shoe line and the atmosphere at the suite was amazing. From the bartender Jack who served his own new brand of liquor, Sorel, to the guests popping in. They all seemed to enjoy the line she had presented and I hope to see more of her designs in the future. She is one to keep an eye out for … Ivy Kirzhner.
