London-based designer Jenny Packham showcased her graceful and feminine dress-dominated line during Day 5 of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week . While she isn’t as well known in America as she is across the pond, you can count on some of Packham’s elegant and classy designs to be worn by her most high-profile fan, the Duchess of Cambridge (Nee Kate Middleton). Front row attendees Mandy Moore and One Tree Hill’s Shantel VanSanten will undoubtedly have no issues finding their next red-carpet gown with all the incredible options from Packham’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection.
Jenny Packham’s assortment of dresses struck the perfect balance of the two main trends for this season: bold colors and soft feminine elements. Many of the looks sent down the runway were influenced by her lingerie collection in the whimsical layers of delicate fabrics, lace, and tasteful Swarovski crystal accents.
With a color palette reminiscent of a day spent in the Mediterranean, gorgeous cloud white and yellow frocks gave way to muted mints, airy blues, and then scene-stealing sunset oranges and reds in flowing chiffon, and silk. Easy styling with super-sleek hair and bright red lips complemented her designs while keeping the focus mainly on the dresses. With a combination of conservative high collars alternating with daring plunging V-necklines, Packham’s new collection is versatile enough for everyone from the Duchess to Hollywood celebrities looking for their next sexy (but classy) look. It is only a matter of time before one of these dresses is the standout gown at the next red-carpet event.
Happy Viewing,
Jenicka
