Design darling Kelly Wearstler celebrated the release of her fourth book, Rhapsody, on Wednesday. Fittingly hosted at The Rug Company in SoHo, guests mingled amongst tapestries hanging in the contemporary space designed by Diane von Furtsenburg, Vivienne Westood, and Paul Smith, while sipping champagne and enjoying canapés.
The book offers a sneak peek into her glittering world, featuring some of her never-before-photographed projects, and revealing the myriad of daily inspirations that fuel her imagination and her dazzling fashion and interior design work. Wearstler, who is known for her flawless talent of fiercely mixing unexpected styles to create a modern, often Hollywood glamour appeal, tagged anxiously awaiting guests’ copies with her large script.
“Just to give them a sneak peek inside my process and how I organize projects,” she said of her goal for the book. “There are six different projects inside the book. One chapter is called ‘Metalliferous,’ and it is just about my love of metals and mixing
