What better to mark the start of summer than with a rosé celebration? New Yorkers were excited to celebrate La Nuit en Rosé with the chance to taste over 85 rosé wines from 58 wineries from around the world. Board a boat, no less!
Over two days and four sessions, guests enjoyed the wine and food tasting extravaganza aboard the Hornblower Hybrid and sailed along the Hudson River.
La Nuit en Rosé is the brainchild of wine entrepreneur Pierrick Bouquet. The wines hailed from France, Italy, Spain, Chile, South Africa, Lebanon, Turkey, Morocco, and Argentina, many of which have yet to be sampled on American soil.
In addition to the wines, other delicacies included: ice creams (one rosé-infused) from The Tipsy Scoop; French pastries canelés and financiers by Céline (raved about by Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten and The New York Times’ Florence Fabricant ); oysters provided from the Brooklyn Oyster Party; cheese and charcuterie from Vin sur Vingt; and terrific healthy and vegetarian options from FeelFood. Add lively music, great company and some of the best views Manhattan has to offer, and it’s a spectacular way to start the summer!
Rosés, known for their incredible versatility with virtually any food, are the official wines of summer. With barbeques firing up, what better time is there to launch La Nuit En Rosé? An event of this scope acknowledges of the explosive growth of the rosé sector in recent years. According to new data from Nielsen, premium imported rosés, those priced at $12 or more per bottle, grew by 39% on volume and 48% on value in 2013, capping nine straight years of documented double-digit growth.
