Last weekend, the New York Society For Ethical Culture located in central park west welcomed the MacDella Cooper Foundation (MCF) for L’Africana Night a benefit co-sponsored by the Segal Family Foundation.

The MacDella Cooper has been working for seven years to provide Liberian orphans with an education at MCF academy built with fundraising money to give underprivileged children a chance to lead their country to a better future.

Guests were first directed to the third floor were a buffet and bar awaited them and let the colorful and stylish crowd mingle while browsing the selection of auction items. A couple of hours later everybody headed to their seat for a show hosted by actor Isaiah Washington featuring musical performance, three fashion shows with make-up by Glam Box, and several dances performances as well as an award ceremony.

Among the many inspiring attendees were many women dedicated to empowing their gender, several notable faces including Richie Rich and Miss Sierra Leone. The last musical performance by Chris DeShield warmed up the audience in preparation for the afterparty at Nikki Beach.
