Over the last five years, the bespoke suit industry has gained a cult following from fashionably clad lads fed up with off-the-rack labels. Even label worshipers are jumping on the bespoke bandwagon, as the demand for this old-fashioned niche grows. Instead of heading to their nearest department store, men are venturing into shops where books filled with fabric swatches line the walls of chalk-dusted rooms.
Petchburi Avenue is the latest of these ventures. Headquartered in Chicago with a stylist in New York City who travels the Eastern seaboard, their team goes beyond the jacket and pants, styling men with accessories such as pocket squares, scarves, cuff links and socks, while guiding clueless customers from drab to dapper at wallet-pleasing costs.
Their New York City launch party, hosted by Fascinate Media, brought out the well-dressed to Gallery Bar, as guests mingled, Brugal Rum-based cocktails in hand, to tunes spun by DJ Eko and later in the evening, a sultry performance by Cynette. For a truly indulgent experience, complimentary hot shaves were provided by Svelte Men. Guests left with gift bags filled with velvet shaving serum from Svelte Men, energy shots from Bodyworks by Relaxzen and postcards from Javi Sanchez.
Petchburri is now taking orders in the New York City and surrounding areas. For an appointment with one of their professional tailors, contact javis@petchburiave.com.
