On Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011, we went to check out the opening of The Mussel Pot by Alex and Leo Baskin. The night that winter came back to bite us in the ass was a great opportunity to stay indoors and enjoy a steaming pot of mussels.
A quaint place in the hustlling and bustling area that is the Bleecker/MacDougal crossroads, it’s a great little place to get your night started with some dinner. Chef Ronnie Esposito, former executive sous-chef at NYY Steak, created a variety of delicious sauces that the mussels come dunked in. For those who shy away from seafood: a.) you probably shouldn’t go here, but b.) there’s a fried chicken and waffle dish that sounds pretty tempting.
We’re looking forward to the warmer weather where we can sit in their serene outdoor garden with a waterfall and koi pond with their cocktails served by some super attractive bartenders that kept the boys busy at the barside.
Yours,
Von
