On a rainy February night, Jhoan Sebastian Grey, winner of Season 17 of Project Runway, participated in a joint fashion show during A/W 2020 New York Fashion Week for the Fashion for a Cause. Project Runway judge, Nina Garcia and host, Karlie Kloss, were also in attendance.
Grey closed out the three designer show with his fashion line that he entitled, “Lineage.” The presentation was an explosion of jewel tone colors in luxe fabrics and textured qualities. Monochromatic head to toe looks took the stage and at the end of the show when all designs were shown one more time, a rainbow effect was achieved.
In the words of Nina Garcia during Project Runway Season 17, “As a Latina, I am so proud of the story that you have told. You are the personification of the American Dream. You came to this country. You worked really hard. You never lost sight of your goal, and you are standing here as a winner on talent alone. So for that, I am very proud.”
In addition to managing his fashion line, Grey is currently serving in a mentorship program with the CFDA (The Council for Fashion Designers of America), which is devoted to supporting and nurturing new and emerging talent.
