The launch of Stefano Marcantonio’s handbags collection hosted a VIP gathering at celebrity jewelry designer Mimi So’s posh Fifth Avenue penthouse showroom in Manhattan on Tuesday, December 15th. Mimi’s office and showroom is so glamorous and tasteful, it should be profiled in InStyle Magazine.
Attendees included: supermodel Kim Alexis and former New York Ranger, husband Ron Duguay; MSNBC anchor Christina Brown; women’s fashion designer Sally Wu; and director Bob Bowden.
The collection unveiled 15 pieces from the Fall/Winter 2010 collection handmade by master craftsmen in Milan, Italy (in the same place as Armani Prive and Chanel) from the finest exotic skins and leathers available, including python, alligator, ostrich and calf leather.
Named after 17th Century queens and princesses, the color palette of the collection includes smoky gray, ochre, musk green and dark red. Each of the original silhouettes is finished with signature hand molded hardware, lined with silk printed hand woven jacquard. Exclusive and made-to-order pieces are also available.
Guests also previewed the Mimi So fine jewelry collection, a dazzling assortment of gold and platinum rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings. Mimi, who designs for many of Hollywood’s A-list celebrities, is often inspired by New York City and pays homage to the city where she grew up in several of her pieces. Clients visiting the showroom can witness the artisans at work in the adjacent production room where the jewelry is all handmade.
Cocktails and gifts were provided courtesy of Bedell Cellars, O.N.E. Water, Lindt Chocolates, Manhattan Magazine, Zink Magazine, custom coutour cleaner Madame Paulette , and Warren Tricomi Salon.
