This past Wednesday night, Stuart Weitzman was honored by Ambassador Charles H. Rivkin, the Ambassador of the United States to France, to celebrate the brand’s 25th Anniversary in Paris. Ambassador Rivkin and his wife Susan Tolson hosted a reception at their elegant Paris residence, The American Embassy.
Ambassador Rivkin and Ms. Tolson arranged for a ping-pong table to be set up on the terrace in the backyard of the Embassy for Stuart, who is an avid player of the game. The cocktail reception drew 150 VIP guests who shared in the special celebration.
During the event, Ms. Tolson donned black satin stilettos with delicate petal details, made exclusively for her by the designer. Stuart Weitzman also wore his own custom made shoes for the occasion. Ms. Tolson addressed those in attendance to honor Stuart Weitzman as an American designer who has significantly contributed to the world of fashion on a global level.
From the beginning, Stuart Weitzman made his mark on the fashion industry with fashion forward styles, incredible high heel pumps and evening sandals. Renowned for towering stilettos and sexy silhouettes, Stuart Weitzman built his success on the unique combination of fashion and comfort in luxury high heel pumps women could wear from day to evening.
On display at the event was the limited edition platform, “Heritage,” designed by Stuart Weitzman to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the brand. It was based on a historical shoe design that Stuart’s father, Seymour Weitzman, patented in 1936. The platform features colorful snakeskin detail and goose-bump calfskin straps and is available exclusively at Stuart Weitzman retail stores worldwide. The models at the reception wore pave styles adorned with Swarovski crystals from the Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 collection. The Blitz, the Vampire, the Backdown, and the Topsy have silver Swarovski crystals in honor of the brand’s 25th anniversary. The shoes were highlighted throughout the night as Stuart took turns playing ping-pong with models wearing each design.
Over the past 25 years, Stuart has developed a dedicated celebrity following wearing his designs to award shows and many other high-profile events. Fans of the brand include Beyonce, Angelina Jolie, Kate Hudson, Reese Witherspoon, Eva Medes, Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Alba, Leighton Meester, Eva Longoria and Katie Holmes.
Guests received an exclusive custom made SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS Chaton Paperweight. This one of a kind luxurious gift was created to celebrate Stuart Weitzman, a long-term brand partner of SWAROVSKI’S, on this very special celebration.
