If you have been a longtime reader or a reader who knows our love of fashion here at Socially, then you know the love we have for Tadashi Shoji. Being a fan now for eight seasons, I can say Tadashi has a well-known signature: the king of lace! Although there were a few pieces that I liked and loved, if I have to be honest, I thought this collection was very déjà vu. That most of the looks we’ve seen in this collection are modified looks or re-work from his past collections.

There is nothing wrong with having a signature or using a true and tried formula that has worked in the past, but I also think it’s nothing wrong with designing something new once in awhile or out of your comfort zone. This season, Tadashi was inspired by the Moorish Palace. Per the press release:

“Ornate architectural details, luxuriant textiles, and palatial soundscapes are intimately linked to the mystery and romance of yesteryear. An elegant balance between antiquity and modernity, the collection is designed for our au courant woman.”

Below are my favorite looks from this collection:

Do you agree with the review? What are your thoughts on the Tadashi Shoji F/W 2014 collection?
