Questlove and Taste Talks partnered to host an All-Star BBQ to close out the end of the summer. Guests trekked to Williamsburg to mix and mingle with top chefs while enjoying their delicious BBQ dishes.
The entire Taste Talks weekend attracted over 5,000 guests who bonded over food and music, and culminated in this last BBQ blowout. At Sunday’s All-Star BBQ on the Williamsburg waterfront, Questlove DJ-ed live on-site while foodies mingled and tasted all the delicious food.
Favorites included Alex Stupak‘s La Hamburguesa Campeona, a grilled short rib patty with Tex Mex-style queso, red pepper-chorizo relish, smoked mayo and potato chips.
Even an array of seafood was served, from lobsters and crab with corn to oysters and mussels.
For dessert, Allison and Matt Robicelli‘s Fuji Apple Pies with miso caramel and vanilla bean tofu cream were a big hit, and were served with help from Broadway’s Allegiance actors George Takei and Telly Leung. Ice cream from Van Leeuwen Ice Cream helped cool us down, along with cool beers from Blue Point Brewing and fizzy Pellegrino sodas.
“Taste Talks was everything we wanted it to be-the ultimate weekend of food and music filled with great parties and great culinary talent,” said Questlove of the event. “Can’t wait to see what next year brings.”
Taste Talks is a national series of festivals celebrating the future of taste through symposia, tastings, dinners and parties.
