I was invited by Models International & Kimberly Taylor to the private launch of the Kimberly Taylor T-Shirt Collection on Thursday, April 22nd, 2010.

To be honest, when I first heard of the event I thought, Mehh.  For a small boutique, it’s pretty easy to throw together an in-store event to promote a new collection: Just provide beverages and a side of light snacks with some blaring music, and entice customers with a discount to lure them in to your store to spend money, and voilà – you’ve got yourself a pretty basic event to call your launch party.

But, the promise of models at your event… Now that changes the entire game!

Models are not easy to please; high-maintenance, picky, and fussy – but they are absolutely fabulous and guaranteed to bring in a glamorous crowd with them.  So with the promise of hot models from Models International, coupled with a hand-written invitation from their director of PR & Marketing, I was sold on going to this event.

Sure enough, the clothes were as you expected from a MPD boutique (re: expensive).  The new collection was delicately made with soft fabrics of cotton and silk, a lot of great bold colors.  Most of the collection had a lot of basic color-blocking, and is relatively casual and would be very easily wearable.

The models were on hand to showcase the line and to chat and take photos with the guests to make us feel extra special while we shopped.  Or, for some of us, to make us feel extra short.
