The Total Greenpoint Immersion

In 2010, Brooklyn Based began a tradition of spending summer Saturdays exploring Brooklyn neighborhoods with Brooklyn Brewery. Rather than a straightforward bar crawl, we wanted guests to immerse themselves in a neighborhood by providing special offers in select shops, restaurants and cafes, too. Our first self-guided tour, or “Immersion” as we called it, was in Greenpoint, and on Saturday, July 13 we’re headed back to the neighborhood for another excellent day of good eats, Brooklyn Brewery beers and exclusive deals.

For $15, attendees will get an envelope filled with “walking around money” (or WAM) to explore Greenpoint on Saturday, July 13. Included are tickets for 4 free Brooklyn Brewery beers, one each at The Brew Inn, Black Rabbit, The Diamond and The Brooklyn Barge, plus exclusive deals like free arancini at Archestratus Books + Foods and 20% off one book plus a free book with the purchase of a tote at WORD. (See the full list of deals below.) For an additional $10 Immersion goers can add on a limited number of lunches at Le Fanfare, Brooklyn Label or Le Gamin.

To participate, guests first need to purchase a ticket online, then pick up their pack of Immersion money the day of the event between noon and 1pm at The Brew Inn (924 Manhattan Ave.) to redeem the free beers and specials throughout Greenpoint.

A decade later, an Immersion is still one of the best ways to spend an afternoon in NYC for the least amount of money. The only thing that has changed this year is the number of Immersions on offer: our Red Hook Immersion August 3 is our only other neighborhood-wide celebration this summer.
