This past Tuesday night, I attended a private/ invite-only event hosted by the celebrity stylist Sergio D’ Larosa of Untapped Hair and his publicist, Jordana Hazan, to view the inauguration of this creative hair treatment: Untapped Liquid Magic in his members-only townhouse loft style salon on W 4th street.

Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by Sergio and his publicist as they had converted this spacious artistic avant-garde salon into a very private gathering for his friends, clients and press.  The setting was quite nice as the guests were easily mingling with each other.  There were even plenty of  NUVO Vodka cocktails and an assortment of fruit and cheese platter from Murray’s Cheese being served.

At the end of the night, I had the pleasure of speaking with Sergio D’ Larosa, the man behind this incredible new concept: Untapped Liquid Magic that will surely make an impact in the beauty industry.  Untapped Liquid Magic is his homemade creation specifically suited to the individual’s hair needs. This treatment that has not been implemented anywhere else in the world helps to thicken the hair and restore a natural long lasting shine and moisture resulting in a silkier, lighter, and healthier looking hair.

More importantly, he doesn’t just “treat” the hair but he gives consultations on how to maintain the hair for a lasting effect.  Many of his clients proclaim him as a “magician” for being able to transform their own hair into their hearts desire.  For him, his salon is about creating a great experience from start to finish where this infuses attentive service with relaxed ambiance and decor.  Even his styling services, whether it is cut or color job, he allows his clients to set their own prices.

It is truly incredible to learn about this celebrity stylist’s humble beginnings and talent for cutting hair.  At an early age of 9, Sergio began cutting hair in his hometown of Buenos Aires, and that passion and talent manifested within him throughout his extensive 12 yrs in the beauty/ fashion industry as well as during his modeling career for Audi TT, Jean Paul Gaultier & Moschino.   In 2009, he was featured in Vogue Magazine as the top up & coming stylist in NYC and it is no surprise given that he is talented at his craft. Some of his notable clients include:  Natasha Bedingfield, Christy Brinkley and Mario Lopez.
